This is the almost-inexplicable story of a middle-aged man who had never written a note of music in his life before his fifty-fourth birthday, but then was blessed by a creative explosion that resulted in the album you are hearing, fifteen similar works in the making, (approaching twelve hours of music) and, in progress, an album of popular songs and an opera. Oh, and to be perfectly honest, although by now he has written a few notes, his ability to read music and to play an actual instrument are still at the beginner’s level. The music you are hearing was laboriously built, one note and rest at a time, in slow-motion virtual playing, on his computer. Fortunately for him, the only dexterity required was the ability of his left index finger to press his mouse button. That particular joint is somewhat sore by now. |
